HM Coastguard: An Evening with Tom Barnett
To launch our 2026 social calendar, we are delighted to welcome Tom Barnett from HM Coastguard as our guest speaker. Tom brings extensive experience as a seasoned sailor and a dedicated member of HM Coastguard.
During his talk, Tom will shed light on the crucial work undertaken by HM Coastguard across the UK and further afield. The session will provide a comprehensive overview of the organisation’s life-saving responsibilities, demonstrating the breadth and importance of their operations.
We can look forward to a compelling mix of real-life stories from the front lines of maritime rescue. These gripping accounts of actual incidents will be seamlessly interwoven with practical safety advice, ensuring that the session is not only informative but also directly relevant to all those with an interest in water safety.
Members and non-members welcome. The talk is free, however we will be collecting donations for lifeboat charities.
